Day 30: OTP (one true pairing):
Chuck and Blair. Blair and Chuck.
Words that come to mind in describing Blair Waldorf and Chuck Bass’ relationship:
Love. Danger. Consuming. Intrigue. Seduction. Games. Dark. Loyalty. Deceit. Trust. Partners in Crime. Old Hollywood. Self-Sacrificing. Headband. Scarf. Limo.
They know each other better than anyone else, they know every dark twisted thought that goes thru the others head, how the other will react, and what game they’re going to play next before they even speak of it. But at the same time, when it’s just the two of them alone, they have their own world full of nothing but love and compassion. They both just want to see the other happy, even if that means them not being together, it’s self-sacrificing.
You can tell by the way Chuck looks at Blair and how much he sacrifices himself for her happiness, even if it means his own demise, that shes always been the only one in his eyes.
He always lets her go so that she can be happy, and it’s always at the worst times.
S2E23: Southern Gentlemen Prefer Blondes:
B asks him if his feelings are real and he says no, later telling S its “because I love her, but I cant make her happy”
S5E7: The Big Sleep No More
C kisses B to make her think that he really hasn’t changed and is still in his Bassy ways, allowing her to remain with Louis, whom C thinks she deserves.
At the same time, it may always be too late, but C always comes around and apologizes for what he did or how he acted.
S2E1: Summer Kind of Wonderful:
Chuck apologizes for leaving B alone in italy and not going with her. he tells her that he was scared of her “seeing” him.
S5E6: I Am Number Nine:
C: I’m not here to apologize about what happened tonight.
B: Then what are you here to apologize for?
C: Everything else. I’m sorry for losing my temper the night you told me Louis proposed to you. I’m sorry for not waiting longer at the Empire state building. I’m sorry for treating you like property. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you I love you when I knew I did. But most of all I’m sorry that I gave up on us, and you never did.
Whether its their mutual love of scheming and burlesque, calling out the other’s fake side projects, or their sexual attraction, they can never stay away from each other for long.
Chuck is the dark soul who loves Blair more than life itself and Blair is the only girl who knows and accepts the real Chuck (and vice versa).
S1E18: Much I Do About Nothing:
B: Chuck Bass is a romantic? Who knew?
C: Now you do. That’s all that matters.
S4E22: The Wrong Goodbye:
B to C: “What we have is a great love. Its complicated, intense, all consuming. No matter what we do and how much we fight, it will always pull us in.
