per usual, the coming Chanel Resort Collection will be shown at an extravagant location. the destination for the 2013 show? none other than the Palace of Versailles. i suppose if anyone is to show at Versailles it should only be la creme de la creme of French fashion, but still. Versailles (my former home/obsession) is the ultimate stage, at most it should only show couture shows. in other words, this show had better be amazing.
previous shows at Versailles include Dior’s 60th anniversary f/w couture show in 2007 (see it HERE). in 1973 courtiers Anne Klein, Stephen Burrows, Halston, Bill Blass and Oscar de la Renta competed against Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Dior, Hubert de Givenchy, Pierre Cardin and Emanuel Ungaro in what became known as ‘The Battle of Versailles’. Dior also released an ad last fall with Charlize Theron filmed at Versailles in the Hall of Mirrors.
