YSL’s new creative director, Hedi Slimane, is set to makeover more than just the fashions coming down the runway. the legendary French house, Yves Saint Laurent, has been renamed to Saint Laurent Paris.
the change is likely to coincide with Slimane’s first publicly-viewable collection for YSL, the S/S ‘13 season. (he chose to have his actual first collection with YSL, the Resort 2013 collection, closed to only buyers so he could make his ‘official’ debut with the S/S ‘13 collection). it is expected that the iconic YSL logo will remain.
for a name that is so established and iconic, this is a bold and interesting move. why fix something if its not broken? heres to whats to come…
