"find what inspires you and let it expose you"
if youre a long time reader you may remember THIS gem from last summer - ‘The Houses That Chanel Bought’. well guess what, they just bought another.
in order to maintain the craftsmanship and skill of handmade luxury fashion items and accessories, Chanel has bought up numerous houses in recent years. the most recent purchase is Causse Gantier.
a ‘skins and leather glove workshop’, Causse Gantier has been around since 1892 and is loacted in Millau, France, (known as the epi-center of glove-making). founded by 3 brothers, which then narrowed down to 1, this heritage-based company has kept it all in the family and is now run by a 4th generation Causse. proving its skill and worth, Cauuse was awarded the “Living Heritage Company’ by France’s Minister for the Industry in 2006 and has been placed on the ‘Inventory of Rare Crafts’ list, handled by the French Ministry for Culture and Communications.
check out their website HERE. and if you want to watch a Causse Gantier video about the process, skill and detail that goes into their pieces, head HERE.
